Transparency
How Aureus Makes Money
We believe you should understand not only how your finances work, but also how the companies you trust with them operate.
That is why we believe it is important to be transparent about how Aureus earns revenue.
Our business model is intentionally simple. When our incentives align with yours, we can focus on building a product that helps you better understand and manage your financial life.
Our business model
We earn money through subscriptions.
Aureus is supported through paid subscriptions.
Subscribers receive access to the full Aureus platform, including connected financial accounts, personalized financial insights, the Financial Health Score, goal tracking, AI-powered educational assistance, portfolio monitoring, and other subscription features available through their plan.
New users can explore the full Aureus platform through a 7-day free trial. Continued access after the trial requires a paid subscription.
Because our revenue comes from subscriptions, our success depends on creating a product that people find valuable enough to continue using.
That alignment matters.
Our goal is simple: build a product valuable enough that people choose to subscribe—not one that depends on selling personal financial information, steering financial decisions, or hiding how the business makes money.
Clear boundaries
How we do not make money
How a company does not earn revenue can be just as important as how it does. The following principles describe the Aureus business model today.
We do not sell your personal financial information.
Your financial information belongs to you. Aureus does not sell your personal financial information to advertisers, data brokers, or marketing companies.
We do not charge hidden fees.
Subscription pricing is disclosed before you subscribe. We do not add undisclosed platform fees or surprise charges to your Aureus subscription.
We do not receive commissions for recommending investments.
Aureus is designed to educate and help you understand your finances. We do not receive compensation for recommending specific stocks, exchange-traded funds, mutual funds, or other investments.
Companies cannot pay to influence your Financial Health Score.
Your Financial Health Score is based on the Aureus scoring methodology—not advertising relationships, sponsorships, or paid placements. A company cannot pay Aureus to improve or change your score.
We do not prioritize financial products because someone paid us.
When financial products or account types are discussed in Aureus educational content, the purpose is to explain how they work. We do not currently prioritize products based on paid placement or referral compensation.
Affiliate relationships
What about affiliate links?
Aureus does not currently rely on affiliate commissions as part of its business model.
If we introduce affiliate relationships in the future, qualifying links or recommendations will be clearly identified so users can understand when Aureus may receive compensation.
Any future affiliate relationship will not influence the calculation of the Financial Health Score.
Why subscriptions
We want our incentives to align with yours.
Many digital platforms depend on advertising, lead generation, data monetization, or commissions from third-party products.
Aureus uses a subscription model because it creates a more direct relationship between the value we provide and the revenue we earn.
When you subscribe, you are paying Aureus for access to the platform. Our incentive is to make the product useful, understandable, secure, and worth continuing to use.
You are our customer—not the inventory being sold to advertisers.
What remains free
Education first, with a trial before you subscribe.
The Aureus Personal Finance Foundations course is available at no cost.
The full Aureus application is available through a 7-day free trial so you can explore the platform before deciding whether to subscribe. After the trial ends, continued access to the application requires a paid subscription.
The free course and the application serve different purposes: the course teaches foundational financial principles, while the Aureus platform helps users apply those principles to their own financial picture.
Our commitment
Your trust matters more than short-term revenue.
Personal finance is built on trust.
We believe companies that help people understand their money should be transparent about how they operate, how they use technology, how they protect information, and how they earn revenue.
If the Aureus business model changes in a meaningful way, we will update this page so users can understand what changed.
