Financial Health Score

What is the Financial Health Score?

The Financial Health Score is Aureus's proprietary framework for helping you understand your overall financial health.

It considers multiple aspects of your finances—including cash flow, emergency savings, debt management, and financial leverage—to provide a broader perspective than any single financial metric.

Is the Financial Health Score the same as a credit score?

No.

A credit score is designed primarily to help lenders evaluate credit risk.

The Financial Health Score is designed to help you better understand your own financial health and identify opportunities to strengthen it.

The two scores serve entirely different purposes.

Will my Financial Health Score be shared with anyone?

No.

Your Financial Health Score is intended solely for your personal use.

Aureus does not share your score with lenders, employers, insurance companies, or other third parties.

Can my Financial Health Score change over time?

Yes.

Your score reflects changes in your financial situation.

Positive habits, improved cash flow, increased savings, or reducing debt may improve your score over time. Likewise, significant changes in your finances may affect it in the opposite direction.

The purpose of the score is to help you understand why changes occur—not to judge your financial decisions.

Privacy & Security

Is my financial information secure?

Protecting your financial information is one of Aureus's highest priorities.

When you choose to connect financial accounts, Aureus uses trusted financial connectivity providers and follows security best practices designed to protect your information.

For additional details, please visit our Security page.

Does Aureus store my online banking password?

No.

Your banking credentials remain with our trusted financial connectivity providers and are never stored by Aureus.

Does Aureus sell my personal financial information?

No.

We do not sell your personal financial information.

Your financial information is used only to provide the services you choose to use and is handled according to our Privacy Policy.

Can I disconnect my accounts?

Yes.

You can disconnect financial institutions whenever you choose.

Once disconnected, Aureus will stop receiving updated information from those accounts.

Artificial Intelligence

How does Aureus use AI?

Aureus uses AI to help explain financial information, answer educational questions, and provide understandable insights based on your financial data.

The goal is to make personal finance easier to understand—not to make decisions for you.

Does AI see all of my financial transactions?

Aureus is designed to minimize the information shared with AI wherever practical.

When appropriate, summarized financial information is used instead of complete transaction histories to provide helpful explanations while limiting unnecessary exposure of sensitive information.

Does AI make financial decisions for me?

No.

Aureus never makes financial decisions on your behalf.

The platform explains information, highlights patterns, and provides educational insights while leaving every financial decision entirely under your control.

Does Aureus provide financial advice?

No.

Aureus provides general financial education and informational insights.

It does not provide individualized financial, investment, legal, or tax advice.

Using Aureus

What financial institutions can I connect?

Aureus supports connections to thousands of financial institutions through trusted financial connectivity providers.

Availability depends on each participating institution.

Can I track investments?

Yes.

Aureus helps you monitor investment accounts alongside your banking, savings, debt, and other financial information so you can view your finances in one place.

Can I set financial goals?

Yes.

You can create goals for:

  • Emergency savings
  • Debt repayment
  • Retirement
  • Investing
  • Other long-term financial priorities

Aureus helps you monitor your progress and understand how those goals fit into your overall financial picture.

Is Aureus just a budgeting app?

Budgeting is one part of Aureus, but it is only one piece of a broader financial system.

Aureus combines financial organization, education, goal tracking, investment monitoring, personalized insights, and the Financial Health Score to help you understand your finances as a whole.

About Aureus

Why was Aureus created?

Many people leave school without ever learning how personal finance works as a complete system.

We created Aureus to make financial education more accessible and to help people organize, understand, and improve their financial lives with confidence.

What makes Aureus different?

Many financial apps focus on tracking money.

Aureus focuses on helping you understand it.

By combining financial organization, education, personalized insights, goal tracking, and a proprietary Financial Health Score, Aureus helps you build a clearer understanding of your complete financial picture.

Why do you describe personal finance as a system?

Your financial life is made up of connected decisions.

Income affects savings.

Savings affect financial resilience.

Debt influences investing.

Investing shapes long-term wealth.

Understanding how these pieces work together leads to better decisions than treating each topic separately.

That's why Aureus is designed to help you build and maintain a complete financial system.

How does Aureus make money?

Aureus is supported through paid subscriptions.

The free Personal Finance Foundations course allows anyone to learn the fundamentals of personal finance. The full Aureus platform is available through a 7-day free trial, after which an active subscription is required for continued access.

We believe transparency is important, which is why we also maintain a dedicated How We Make Money page that explains our business model in more detail.

Why is the app called Aureus?

The name Aureus comes from the ancient Roman gold coin of the same name. Throughout history, it has represented enduring value rather than short-term speculation.

We chose the name because our mission isn't to help people chase quick wins—it's to help them build lasting financial knowledge, stronger habits, and long-term financial health.
