Account Security

Learn how to keep your Aureus account secure and protect your financial information.

Account Security

Your Aureus account provides access to your financial information, making account security one of the most important parts of protecting your personal finances.

While Aureus is designed with security in mind, keeping your account secure is a shared responsibility. A few simple security habits can go a long way toward protecting your information.

Why Account Security Matters

Your Aureus account contains valuable financial information, including account balances, transactions, budgets, investments, and your Financial Health Score.

Although Aureus does not store your online banking passwords, protecting your Aureus account remains essential.

A strong password, secure authentication, and good security habits help ensure that only you can access your financial information.

Strengthening Your Account

Open Settings and navigate to Security to review your available security options.

We recommend the following best practices:

Use a Unique Password

Create a password that you use only for your Aureus account.

Avoid reusing passwords from your email, banking, or other online services.

A password manager can help you generate and securely store strong, unique passwords.

Enable Multi-Factor Authentication

If multi-factor authentication (MFA) is available for your account, we strongly recommend enabling it.

MFA adds an additional layer of protection by requiring a second verification step when signing in from a new device or location.

Review Active Sessions

If you've signed in from a shared or public computer, review your active sessions and sign out when you're finished.

Ending unused sessions helps reduce the risk of unauthorized access.

Keep Your Recovery Information Current

Make sure you continue to have access to the email address associated with your Aureus account.

This makes it easier to recover your account if you ever need to reset your password.

Security Best Practices

To help keep your account secure:

  • Use a strong, unique password.
  • Enable multi-factor authentication whenever it's available.
  • Never share verification codes with anyone.
  • Sign out after using Aureus on shared or public computers.
  • Keep your browser and operating system up to date.
  • Be cautious of unexpected emails asking for sensitive information.

Remember, Aureus will never ask you to provide your password by email.
